Laparoscopy was performed in 24 girls, aged 12-16 with congenital colpatresia. Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome was diagnosed. In all girls, in addition to morphologically and functionally normal ovaries, lying highly on the lateral wall on the pelvis, uterine horns with the normal, underdeveloped, or rudimentary Fallopian tubes were found. In 14 girls rudimentary uterine horns were observed, and in 4 girls large but inactive ones. In 3 girls large uterine horns on one side, and the rudimentary ones on the other side were seen. In 3 girls one-sided ovaries with uterine horns and Fallopian tubes were stated. In two cases the active uterine horns, being cause of pelvic pain, were surgically removed, and in one girl of them the active horn was a site for the onset of pelvic endometriosis.
