A patient with carcinoma of the urinary bladder was found to have a very large, isolated metastatic tumour in the abdominal wall. Complete excision of the metastasis was achieved. On examination 1 year later no further metastatic growth was observed, although local disease progression was found to have occurred in the bladder.
