To report the case of infestation of the eyelashes presenting as chronic blepharoconjunctivitis.
A 6-year-old girl presented with a 2-month history of blepharoconjunctivitis unresponsive to topical antibiotics in the left eye. Slit-lamp examination revealed the presence of nits and adult parasites on the eyelashes. Parasitological examination confirmed adult forms and nits of . There was no evidence of infestation elsewhere. Outcome was favourable with mechanical removal and application of petroleum jelly.
Careful slit-lamp examination of the eyelashes should be done in all patients presenting with ocular irritation symptoms.
报告以慢性睑结膜炎形式出现的睫毛虱感染病例。
一名6岁女孩左眼患有睑结膜炎2个月,局部使用抗生素治疗无效。裂隙灯检查发现睫毛上有虱卵和成虫。寄生虫学检查证实有成虫和虱卵。无其他部位感染的证据。通过机械清除和涂抹凡士林,预后良好。
对于所有出现眼部刺激症状的患者,均应仔细进行裂隙灯检查睫毛。
