A novel Gram-stain-negative, motile, rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain 102-Py4, was isolated from Sinduri beach sediment in Taean, Republic of Korea. Cells were aerobic, oxidase-positive and catalase-positive. The isolate grew optimally with 1-3 % (w/v) NaCl, but NaCl is not an absolute requirement for growth. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis revealed that strain 102-Py4 clustered together with Zobellella aerophila and fell within the clade formed by recognized species of the genus Zobellella. Its closest phylogenetic neighbours were Z. aerophila JC2671 (98.1 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity), Zobellella denitrificans ZD1 (96.4 %) and Zobellella taiwanensis ZT1 (96.0 %). The major fatty acids were summed feature 3 (comprising C16 : 1ω7c and/or C16 : 1ω6c), C12 : 0, summed feature 8 (comprising C18 : 1ω7c and/or C18 : 1ω6c) and C16 : 0. The polar lipids were phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol and two unidentified amino lipids. The DNA G+C content was 62.1 mol%. The DNA-DNA relatedness value between strain 102-Py4 and Z. aerophila JC2671 was 12.4±1.3 %. The phenotypic properties of 102-Py4 demonstrated that this strain could be distinguished from other Zobellella species. On the basis of the data presented, strain 102-Py4 (=KCTC 62272=JCM 32359=DSM 106043) is considered to represent a novel species of the genus Zobellella, for which the name Zobellella maritima sp. nov. is proposed.
从韩国泰安新斗里海滩沉积物中分离出一株新型革兰氏阴性、具运动性、杆状细菌,命名为菌株102-Py4。细胞为需氧型,氧化酶阳性,过氧化氢酶阳性。该分离株在含1-3%(w/v)NaCl的条件下生长最佳,但NaCl并非生长的绝对必需条件。16S rRNA基因序列分析表明,菌株102-Py4与嗜气佐贝氏菌聚集在一起,属于佐贝氏菌属已知种形成的进化分支。其最接近的系统发育邻居是嗜气佐贝氏菌JC2671(16S rRNA基因序列相似性为98.1%)、反硝化佐贝氏菌ZD1(96.4%)和台湾佐贝氏菌ZT1(96.0%)。主要脂肪酸为特征性总和3(包含C16:1ω7c和/或C16:1ω6c)、C12:0、特征性总和8(包含C18:1ω7c和/或C18:1ω6c)和C16:0。极性脂质为磷脂酰乙醇胺、磷脂酰甘油和两种未鉴定的氨基脂质。DNA G+C含量为62.1 mol%。菌株102-Py4与嗜气佐贝氏菌JC2671之间的DNA-DNA相关性值为12.4±1.3%。102-Py4的表型特征表明该菌株可与其他佐贝氏菌属物种区分开来。根据所提供的数据,菌株102-Py4(=KCTC 62272=JCM 32359=DSM 106043)被认为代表佐贝氏菌属的一个新物种,为此提议命名为海洋佐贝氏菌(Zobellella maritima sp. nov.)。
