To review the progress of treatment and prevention of breast cancer related lymphedema.
The recent literature concerning treatment and prevention of breast cancer related lymphedema was extensively consulted and reviewed.
The treatment of lymphedema is now based on complete decongestive therapy, supplemented with medicine and surgery. Those procedures have been proved to be safe and effective. Sentinel lymph node biopsy, axillary reverse mapping, and lymphaticovenous anastomoses have been used to decrease the incidence of lymphedema. They show promising effectiveness in short term, but the long-term effectiveness needs further tests.
In clinical practice, many treatment methods are used to decrease lymphedema, and lymphedema prevention is playing an increasingly important role. Lymphaticovenous anastomoses shows a promising effectiveness in reducing lymphedema.

广泛查阅并综述近期有关乳腺癌相关淋巴水肿治疗与预防的文献。
目前淋巴水肿的治疗以完全减压疗法为基础，辅以药物和手术。这些方法已被证明是安全有效的。前哨淋巴结活检、腋窝反向造影和淋巴管静脉吻合术已被用于降低淋巴水肿的发生率。它们在短期内显示出有前景的疗效，但长期疗效需要进一步试验。
在临床实践中，多种治疗方法被用于减轻淋巴水肿，且淋巴水肿的预防正发挥着越来越重要的作用。淋巴管静脉吻合术在减轻淋巴水肿方面显示出有前景的疗效。
