High-temperature trifluoromethylation of fullerene C chlorination products followed by HPLC separation of C (CF ) derivatives resulted in the isolation and X-ray structural characterization of thirteen C (1)(CF ) compounds including nine new isomers such as one isomer of C (1)(CF ) , two C (1)(CF ) , three C (1)(CF ) , one C (1)(CF ) , and two isomers of C (1)(CF ) . Depending on their addition patterns, C (1)(CF ) isomers are divided into three subgroups and discussed in terms of trifluoromethylation pathways and relative formation energies.
