Abstract

Despite our moderate understanding of the physiology of the initiation of labour in various animal species, notably ruminants and rodents, the mechanism in man remains enigmatic. In the initiation process in the human the major role is apparently taken by the placental and fetal membranes, while the fetus may modulate the timing of labour. This review sets out to examine current knowledge of the process of initiating and maintaining parturition in the human.

尽管我们对各种动物物种(尤其是反刍动物和啮齿动物)分娩启动的生理学有一定了解,但人类分娩的机制仍然是个谜。在人类分娩启动过程中,主要作用显然由胎盘和胎膜承担,而胎儿可能会调节分娩时间。本文综述旨在探讨人类分娩启动和维持过程的现有知识。
