Abstract

Different concentrations of Dy-doped oxyfluoride tellurite (TWGDy) glasses of composition (85  -  x) TeO  +  5 WO  +  10 GeO  +  x DyF, where x  =  0, 0.1, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 mol% were prepared by melt quenching method. The Judd-Ofelt theory was applied to study the luminescence properties. Three phenomenological Judd-Ofelt (Ω ) intensity parameters were obtained as Ω  =  4.90  ×  10 cm, Ω  =  1.73  ×  10 cm and Ω  =  1.48  ×  10 cm for 0.5 mol% of Dy-doped TWGDy glass. When excited at different wavelengths, the TWGDy glasses exhibit three emission bands due to F  →  H (blue), F  →  H (yellow) and F  →  H (red) transitions. The excitation wavelength was optimized as 453 nm for strong and proficient luminescence from TWGDy glasses. Beyond 0.5 mol% of Dy concentration, the TWGDy glasses show luminescence quenching. The laser characteristic parameters such as effective bandwidth, stimulated emission cross-section, gain bandwidth and optical gain were determined using the emission spectra and radiative parameters. The 0.5 mol% of Dy-doped TWGDy glass could be potential to design a new class of yellow laser material.

采用熔融淬火法制备了不同浓度的镝掺杂氧氟碲酸盐(TWGDy)玻璃,其成分(85 - x)TeO + 5 WO + 10 GeO + x DyF,其中x = 0、0.1、0.5、1.0和2.0 mol%。应用Judd-Ofelt理论研究其发光性能。对于0.5 mol%的镝掺杂TWGDy玻璃,得到三个唯象Judd-Ofelt(Ω)强度参数,分别为Ω = 4.90×10 cm、Ω = 1.73×10 cm和Ω = 1.48×10 cm。当在不同波长激发时,TWGDy玻璃由于F→H(蓝色)、F→H(黄色)和F→H(红色)跃迁而呈现三个发射带。将激发波长优化为453 nm,以实现TWGDy玻璃的强而有效的发光。当镝浓度超过0.5 mol%时,TWGDy玻璃出现发光猝灭。利用发射光谱和辐射参数确定了有效带宽、受激发射截面、增益带宽和光学增益等激光特性参数。0.5 mol%的镝掺杂TWGDy玻璃有潜力设计出一类新型的黄色激光材料。
