Nevertheless, there are still potentially dangerous side effects important to be considered. To improve treatment outcome it is therefore advantageous to obtain a detailed medical history, as well as to give specific information about the mechanisms of action of antidepressants before choosing the appropriate drug. Communicating known side-effects to patients comprehensively can improve treatment and medication adherence.
