Abstract

Thelaziasis is an ocular arthropod-borne, zoonotic disease of the eye infecting the conjunctival sac, lacrimal duct, and lacrimal gland caused by a nematode of the genus . We report the first case of human ocular thelaziasis in Nepal in a 6-month-old child from a Rukum district, Nepal. The infant presented with conjunctivitis, and his visual acuity and dilated fundal examination were normal. A total of 6 worms were removed for identification. Collected nematodes were identified based on morphological keys as Thelazia . The patient's symptoms improved after removal of the nematodes.

吸吮线虫病是一种由吸吮线虫属线虫引起的、通过节肢动物传播的眼部人畜共患病,可感染结膜囊、泪道和泪腺。我们报告了尼泊尔首例人类眼部吸吮线虫病病例,患者为一名来自尼泊尔鲁库姆地区的6个月大儿童。该婴儿患有结膜炎,其视力和散瞳眼底检查均正常。共取出6条虫进行鉴定。根据形态学特征,所收集的线虫被鉴定为罗氏吸吮线虫。去除线虫后,患者症状有所改善。
