Pseudomastacinae is a monogeneric subfamily with 22 valid species, distributed among five South American countries. Species of Pseudomastax are very similar morphologically and especially in respect of their coloration, which is typically black with white/yellow detail in males and brown in females. The most evident differences are in male cerci and phallic complex, structures typically used in the taxonomy of the group. Herein is described a new species for the genus, Pseudomastax graciollii sp. nov. In addition, the female of P. personata is redescribed and new records are presented for this species and P. nigroplagiata.
伪鞭蝎亚科是一个单属亚科，有22个有效物种，分布在五个南美洲国家。伪鞭蝎属的物种在形态上非常相似，尤其是在颜色方面，雄性通常为黑色并带有白色/黄色细节，雌性为棕色。最明显的区别在于雄性尾须和阳茎复合体，这些结构通常用于该类群的分类学研究。本文描述了该属的一个新物种，即格拉西奥利伪鞭蝎（Pseudomastax graciollii sp. nov.）。此外，重新描述了面具伪鞭蝎（P. personata）的雌性，并给出了该物种和黑斑伪鞭蝎（P. nigroplagiata）的新记录。
