Incidence of diabetes Type 1 in children with non-classic symptoms is one of the reasons for the delay in their follow-up. Failure in its diagnosis by the health professional exposes the mothers to many challenges. This study was conducted to explore mothers' experiences in the diagnosis pathway of diabetes Type 1 in children.
Semi-structured qualitative interviews were conducted with fifteen mothers of children with Type 1 diabetes. they were selected by the purposefull sampling method. Their child had a medical file in diabetes centers in Kerman, Iran, at least one year has passed of diabetes diagnosis in their child and the maximum age of the child is 14 years. Data were analyzed using content analysis. Three themes and nine sub-themes emerged during data analysis.
The extracted themes included "presence in the maze path to the child's disease", "facing the reality of the child's disease", and "to grin and bear with new conditions".
According to the finding, these mothers experienced various challenges. Therefore, identification of these challenges by health professionals to prevent and decrease of Them, is necessary.
非典型症状儿童1型糖尿病的发病率是其随访延迟的原因之一。健康专业人员未能诊断出该病使母亲们面临诸多挑战。本研究旨在探索母亲们在儿童1型糖尿病诊断过程中的经历。
对15名1型糖尿病患儿的母亲进行了半结构化定性访谈。采用目的抽样法选取她们。她们的孩子在伊朗克尔曼的糖尿病中心有病历档案,孩子被诊断为糖尿病至少已过去一年,且孩子最大年龄为14岁。采用内容分析法对数据进行分析。数据分析过程中出现了三个主题和九个子主题。
提取的主题包括“在孩子疾病的迷宫路径中徘徊”、“面对孩子疾病的现实”以及“忍受新状况”。
根据研究结果,这些母亲经历了各种挑战。因此,健康专业人员识别这些挑战以预防和减少这些挑战是必要的。
