Abstract

The method of substitution of a defect of the tongue and fundus of the oral cavity with a skin-muscle flap including musculus sternohyoideus is described. The application of this kind of plasty allows to keep continuity of the mandible in such resections. The operations were fulfilled in 6 patients. Good functional and cosmetic results were obtained.
