Abstract

AIM

To evaluate the prediction ability of neutrophils and develop a nomogram on radiosensitivity in thoracic cancer patients.

METHODS

We retrospectively reviewed 398 lung and esophageal cancers patients who received external-beam radiotherapy or concurrent chemoradiotherapy as first-line therapy.

RESULTS

Logistic regression model showed that patients with low levels of neutrophil counts and/or TGF-β1 exhibited better radiation sensitivity. Furthermore, a nomogram was created to predict radiotherapy sensitivity. The combination of neutrophil count and TGF-β1 level was an independent prognostic factor for lung and esophageal cancers patients.

CONCLUSION

The study developed a nomogram based on the levels of circulating neutrophils and TGF-β1. The prediction value in radiosensitivity and protumorigenic effect of neutrophils might owe to N2 tumor-associated neutrophils.

目的

评估中性粒细胞对胸癌患者放射敏感性的预测能力,并构建相关列线图。

方法

回顾性分析 398 例接受外照射或同步放化疗的肺癌和食管癌患者。

结果

Logistic 回归模型显示,中性粒细胞计数和/或 TGF-β1 水平低的患者具有更好的放射敏感性。进一步构建了预测放疗敏感性的列线图。中性粒细胞计数和 TGF-β1 水平的联合是肺癌和食管癌患者的独立预后因素。

结论
