Primary reconstruction after tumour resection in the head and neck region is indicated to cover vital structures such as the eye, the nasal and oral cavities, nerves, blood vessels and skeleton for optimum reconstruction of functions and appearance. Local, regional and free flaps are applied. The special topographic requirements are illustrated with clinical cases.
