Abstract
Despite rapid technologic advances, and the introduction of new, competitive imaging techniques, ultrasound, although a mature modality, remains a versatile and indispensible technology. Ease, access, low cost, and accuracy will assure its central role in the investigation of localized hepatic lesions for the foreseeable future.
