Abstract

Milestones describing the trajectory from medical student to specialist are needed to tailor the training. This is challenging because competencies are abstract constructs. Entrustable professional activities (epas) can be a helpful framework to define milestones and to individualize the training experience.
AIM: To describe epas for the common part of the curricular framework in psychiatry in the Netherlands.
METHOD: A selective literature review and description of the activities of the epa Working Group.
RESULTS: The Working Group has preliminarily identified eight 'essential' epas.
CONCLUSION: epas for the common part of the future curricular framework for psychiatry in the Netherlands are described. Progress has to be made in the development of this curricular framework for psychiatry with inclusion of these epas.
