Peritoneal dialysis (PD)-related peritonitis is a major cause of injury and technique failure in patients undergoing PD. is ubiquitous in the environment, and is a Gram-negative rod associated with infections in fish and amphibians in most cases; however, it can also cause opportunistic infections in immunocompromised patients. We report a case of peritonitis in a 56-year-old male on automated PD. Peritonitis may have been caused by contamination of the Set Plus, a component of the automated peritoneal dialysis device. Although Set Plus is disposable, the patient reused the product by cleansing with tap water. He was successfully treated with intraperitoneally-administered ceftazidime and has been well without recurrence for more than 2 years.
腹膜透析(PD)相关腹膜炎是接受PD治疗患者发生损伤和技术失败的主要原因。在环境中普遍存在,在大多数情况下是一种与鱼类和两栖动物感染相关的革兰氏阴性杆菌;然而,它也可在免疫功能低下的患者中引起机会性感染。我们报告一例56岁接受自动化腹膜透析的男性发生腹膜炎的病例。腹膜炎可能是由自动化腹膜透析设备的一个组件Set Plus受到污染所致。尽管Set Plus是一次性使用的,但该患者用自来水清洗后重复使用了该产品。他通过腹腔内注射头孢他啶成功治愈,且2年多来病情良好,未复发。
