Abstract

The article presents a concise review of personnel policy of boards of Zemstvo self-government шт the Smolensk gubernia related to health care. The conclusion is made about average level and life quality of the Zemstvo medical personnel in one of typical rural gubernia of the Central Russia in the beginning of XX century.
