BACKGROUND
We present 3 case reports to share our experience and explore the safety and efficacy of treating huge teardrop fracture of the axis (HTDFA).
CASE DESCRIPTION
Case 1: A 47-year-old man suffered from generalized pain after falling from a height. Case 2: A 39-year-old woman suffered facial contusions and lacerations during a car accident, and her neck was sore. Case 3: A 51-year-old woman was hit in the face during a car accident, and her neck was sore. These 3 patients had limited neck movement and no nerve injury, and their radiographs showed HTDFA. The patients were treated with Zero-Profile (Zero-P) implant placement combined with miniscrew fixation.
CONCLUSIONS
The treatment of HTDFA by Zero-P implant placement combined with miniscrew fixation is effective and stable. The last follow-up examination of the patients showed that fusion had been achieved, and their neck pain had disappeared. Anterior reduction, diskectomy, and Zero-P implantation combined with miniscrew fixation can be used to treat HTDFA. Both avulsed teardrop fragment removal and C2-3 bone grafting lead to bone healing. This method is effective, safe, and simple for the treatment of HTDFA.

病例描述
病例 1：一名 47 岁男性，从高处坠落致全身多处疼痛。病例 2：一名 39 岁女性，车祸后面部挫伤和撕裂，颈部疼痛。病例 3：一名 51 岁女性，车祸中面部被撞，颈部疼痛。这 3 例患者颈部活动受限，无神经损伤，影像学检查显示 HTDFA。患者接受 Zero-Profile（零压）植入物置入联合微螺钉固定治疗。
结论
Zero-Profile 植入物置入联合微螺钉固定治疗 HTDFA 有效且稳定。患者末次随访时融合已完成，颈部疼痛消失。前路复位、椎间盘切除和 Zero-Profile 植入物置入联合微螺钉固定可用于治疗 HTDFA。撕脱泪滴样骨折块的切除和 C2-3 植骨均能促进骨愈合。该方法治疗 HTDFA 有效、安全且简单。
