Abstract

A gold-catalyzed oxy-propargylamination of -allenamides has been developed by using -alkynyl -Boc-acetals as the difunctionalization reagents. Typically, this process features the unique proximal addition rather than the common distal nucleophilic addition for gold(I)-activated allenamides. This reaction is atom-economic and provides highly functionalized 1,3-amino alcohol derivatives in good yields with good to excellent diastereoselectivities under mild reaction conditions.
