Congenital absence of lumbar articular facets with computerized axial tomography documentation.

The purpose of this report is to add five cases of congenitally absent lumbosacral facets with specific computerized axial tomography (CAT) documentation to the literature. This finding is not as uncommon as the literature suggests, and increased awareness of this entity will decrease its misinterpretation as a destructive lesion.
