Abstract

A compact high-power waveguide circular polarizer working at the C-band is presented in this paper. By introducing a split-ring slot and an orthogonally crossed rectangular slot into a circular waveguide, high transmission efficiency and 90° phase difference of two linearly polarized orthogonal TE modes are achieved by using the polarizer within a half wavelength. In the meantime, the power handling capacity of the designed polarizer is expected to be over 120 MW, which can be applied in the high-power microwave region. The designed circular polarizer is fabricated and measured by the cold test; the results of experiments and simulations agree well with each other. It is shown in the experiments that the axial ratio is less than 0.9 dB, the voltage standing-wave ratio is less than 1.2, and the conversion efficiency is over -0.15 dB at 4.2-4.4 GHz.

本文提出了一种工作在C波段的紧凑型高功率波导圆极化器。通过在圆形波导中引入裂环槽和正交交叉的矩形槽,利用该极化器在半波长范围内实现了两个线性极化正交TE模式的高传输效率和90°相位差。同时,所设计极化器的功率处理能力预计超过120兆瓦,可应用于高功率微波区域。所设计的圆极化器通过冷测进行制作和测量;实验结果与模拟结果吻合良好。实验表明,在4.2 - 4.4 GHz频段,轴比小于0.9 dB,电压驻波比小于1.2,转换效率超过 -0.15 dB。
