Abstract

The aims of the present study were to evaluate the pharmacokinetic profile and efficacy of eprinomectin (EPM) against Rhipicephalus microplus in cattle of a new injectable form of EPM (Voss Performa®). The product was administered subcutaneously at a dose of 200 μg EPM/kg, in a single dose. The efficacy of EPM against R. microplus in cattle was evaluated through field and stall tests. Studies were performed to estimate the pharmacokinetic parameters of EPM with the purpose of better understanding the kinetics of the formulation. The formulation was effective in controlling R. microplus in both naturally and artificially infested cattle, providing efficacy greater than 95%. The results of pharmacokinetic study were C of 47.15 ± 22.20 ng/ml, T of 1.33 ± 0.492 days, T of 2.96 ± 1.212 days, AUC of 228.08 ± 57.30 ng day ml , and AUC of 240.50 ± 58.44 ng day ml . Therefore, the new injectable EPM formulation becomes an important alternative for the control of cattle tick in Brazil.

本研究的目的是评估一种新型注射用埃普利诺菌素(EPM,商品名Voss Performa®)对牛微小牛蜱的药代动力学特征和疗效。该产品以200μg EPM/kg的剂量皮下注射,为单剂量给药。通过田间试验和畜栏试验评估EPM对牛微小牛蜱的疗效。进行了研究以估算EPM的药代动力学参数,以便更好地了解该制剂的动力学情况。该制剂在自然感染和人工感染的牛中均能有效控制微小牛蜱,有效率超过95%。药代动力学研究结果为:C为47.15±22.20ng/ml,T为1.33±0.492天,T为2.96±1.212天,AUC为228.08±57.30ng·天/ml,AUC为240.50±58.44ng·天/ml。因此,这种新型注射用EPM制剂成为巴西控制牛蜱的一种重要选择。
