A 12-year-old boy had partial evulsion of his optic nerve caused by blunt trauma and maintained good vision. Elevation of the macula, resulting probably from a leak of cerebrospinal fluid under the neurosensory retina from the disc margin, resolved spontaneously in two weeks.
