Abstract

OBJECTIVE

The aim of this study was to determine the best formulation of ophthalmic gel preparation by two different bases, Poloxamer 188 and HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose), with physical evaluation, such as organoleptic, pH, viscosity, and gel capacity during 28 days of storage time.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

The two different concentrations of the gel made by using Poloxamer 188 were F1 (5%) and F2 (10%), and those made by using HPMC were F3 (0.45%) and F4 (1%).

RESULTS

The results of this study showed that formulation 1 (F1) was the optimum formulation, having pH 6.45, viscosity of 5.47 cP, and a better gel capacity than other formulas.

CONCLUSION

gel for ophthalmic preparations is developed to mask the limitation of conventional forms of ophthalmic preparation. gel technology significantly increase the effectivity of drugs in the raw material and drug bioavailability in new drug delivery systems based on gel concept.

摘要

目的

本研究旨在通过泊洛沙姆188和羟丙基甲基纤维素(HPMC)这两种不同基质,对眼科凝胶制剂进行物理评估,如感官特性、pH值、粘度和储存28天期间的凝胶容量,以确定最佳配方。

材料与方法

使用泊洛沙姆188制成的两种不同浓度凝胶分别为F1(5%)和F2(10%),使用HPMC制成的凝胶分别为F3(0.45%)和F4(1%)。

结果

本研究结果表明,配方1(F1)是最佳配方,pH值为6.45,粘度为5.47厘泊,凝胶容量优于其他配方。

结论

开发眼科制剂凝胶是为了克服传统眼科制剂形式的局限性。凝胶技术显著提高了原料药物的有效性以及基于凝胶概念的新药物递送系统中的药物生物利用度。
