For the first time, we report the design and fabrication of a ZnS nanoparticle-decorated silica fibre mesh (ZnS@SiO) for localized HS-amplified chemotherapy. With incorporation of DOX, implanted ZnS@SiO fibres enable sufficient on-site drug dosage and intracellular HS content, inducing significant in vitro and in vivo tumour inhibition.
