[Orthodontic aspects of third molars].

This paper deals with an orthodontic approach of the third molars. A technique was presented with the purpose of predicting the space available for eruption and occlusion. A review of the literature led to the conclusion that the third molars do play a role during the anterior crowding process but it is not considered as its main etiological factor. Enucleation of third lower molars at early age is suggested when space is not adequate for its further eruption.
