[Osteosynthesis with a rod in crushing injuries of the knee joint and periarthric fractures of the femur and crural bones].

The authors describe the treatment of 14 patients having crushing injuries of the knee joint of periarthric fragmentation fractures of femoral and crural bones with a wide zone of soft tissues damage. Economic resection of the joint with subsequent formation of a juncture between the femoral and tibial bones with a long rod (65--75 cm) seems to be mostly rational.
