Abstract

To our knowledge, this is only the fourth case recorded of thyroid abscess due to Eikenella corrodens and the first in which the causative organism has been isolated in pure culture from the site of infection. E. corrodens may be the cause of apparently sterile thyroid abscesses encountered in head and neck surgery and should be considered in their differential aetiology.

据我们所知，这是第四例由腐蚀艾肯菌引起的甲状腺脓肿病例记录，也是首例从感染部位分离出纯培养致病微生物的病例。腐蚀艾肯菌可能是头颈外科手术中出现的看似无菌性甲状腺脓肿的病因，在鉴别病因时应予以考虑。
