Precise definition is essential to diagnosis of diseases, therapeutic approaches, including surgical methods, and techniques. Terminological confusion may create insecurity among those seeking advice and may lead to erroneous consequences. The scope of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is outlined in this paper, and some major terms are interpreted.
