Dermatitis in the microelectronics industry.

Many of the chemicals used in the semiconductor industry are strong skin irritants, and several are capable of readily inducing contact allergic sensitization. In plants in which state-of-the-art equipment is used, the hazards to production workers are minimal today, but those workers who clean, repair, and maintain equipment remain at special risk. The major potential cutaneous hazards of each step in the production of microchips are the subject of this article.
