I draw on my studies in different cultures and subcultures and in different age groups to develop a psychosocial perspective for viewing youthful suicide. This perspective utilizes disciplines ranging from demography to psychodynamics to discuss the relationship of violence to suicide; the role of families in producing youngsters who become preoccupied with death and suicide; and the directions that seem most profitable for future research.
我借鉴自己在不同文化、亚文化以及不同年龄组的研究，来形成一个用于看待青少年自杀问题的社会心理视角。这一视角运用了从人口统计学到心理动力学等多学科知识，以探讨暴力与自杀的关系；家庭在培养那些沉迷于死亡和自杀的青少年过程中所起的作用；以及那些对未来研究而言似乎最具成效的方向。
