Coccidiosis in sheep and goats.

Coccidiosis is one of the most important diseases of sheep and goats in the United States because of its effect of productivity, especially in the growing of lambs and kids. Control of coccidiosis is dependent on management techniques to reduce overcrowding, fecal contamination and stress, and on proper use of effective coccidiostats, such as lasalocid and decoquinate, to prevent clinical disease. The sheep and goat industries need two unrelated effective coccidiostats approved for use in these species.
