The crane fly belongs to family Tipulidae. The mitogenome of was sequenced, the new representative of the mitogenome of the family Tipulidae. The nearly complete mitogenome is 14,851 bp totally, consisting of 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNAs and 22 transfer RNAs. All genes have the similar locations and strands with that of other published species of Tipulidae. The nucleotide composition biases toward A and T, which together made up 76.04％of the entirety. Bayesian inference analysis strongly supported the monophyly of Tipuloidea. It suggested that the phylogenetic relationship within Tipuloidea is Pediciidae + (Limoniidae + (Tipulidae + Cylindrotomidae)).
大蚊属于大蚊科。对其线粒体基因组进行了测序，它是大蚊科线粒体基因组的新代表。近乎完整的线粒体基因组全长14,851 bp，由13个蛋白质编码基因、2个核糖体RNA和22个转运RNA组成。所有基因的位置和链与其他已发表的大蚊科物种相似。核苷酸组成偏向于A和T，二者共占整体的76.04％。贝叶斯推断分析有力地支持了大蚊总科的单系性。结果表明，大蚊总科内的系统发育关系为大蚊科+（沼大蚊科+（大蚊科+网大蚊科））。
