Abstract

PURPOSE

While the use of cartilage graft for revision tympanoplasty is quite common, the data on the revision of cartilage tympanoplasty are limited. Our study aims to present the results of our patients who underwent endoscopic butterfly inlay myringoplasty for the revision of cartilage tympanoplasty.

METHODS

Demographic data, ear sides, perforation locations, graft success rates and hearing results of the patients who underwent endoscopic butterfly inlay myringoplasty for revision of cartilage tympanoplasty between Sep 2017 and Jan 2020 were evaluated.

RESULTS

A total of 17 patients with 7 (41%) females and 10 (59%) males were included in our study. Eight of the ears (47%) were right and nine (53%) were left. Perforation locations included ten (59%) anterior, six (35%) inferior, and one (6%) posterior. The graft success rate of our study was 100%. No changes were observed in post-operative air conduction, bone conduction and air-bone gap values compared to the pre-operative period (p > 0.05).

CONCLUSIONS

Endoscopic butterfly inlay myringoplasty for the revision of cartilage tympanoplasty is considered to be a safe surgical technique with satisfactory anatomical and hearing results.

目的

尽管使用软骨移植物进行翻修鼓室成形术较为常见,但有关软骨鼓室成形术翻修的数据有限。我们的研究旨在展示接受内镜蝶形嵌片鼓膜成形术进行软骨鼓室成形术翻修的患者的结果。

方法

评估了 2017 年 9 月至 2020 年 1 月期间接受内镜蝶形嵌片鼓膜成形术进行软骨鼓室成形术翻修的患者的人口统计学数据、耳侧、穿孔位置、移植物成功率和听力结果。

结果

共有 17 名患者(7 名女性[41%],10 名男性[59%])纳入本研究。8 只耳朵(47%)为右侧,9 只耳朵(53%)为左侧。穿孔位置包括 10 个(59%)前位、6 个(35%)下位和 1 个(6%)后位。我们的研究中移植物成功率为 100%。与术前相比,术后气导、骨导和气骨导间隙值无变化(p>0.05)。

结论

内镜蝶形嵌片鼓膜成形术用于软骨鼓室成形术翻修被认为是一种安全的手术技术,具有令人满意的解剖学和听力结果。
