Abstract

Animal infection models play significant roles in studying bacterial pathogenic mechanisms, host pathogen interaction as well as evaluating drug and vaccine efficacies. We have been utilizing an acute pneumonia model to study bacterial colonization in lungs and assess virulence to the host by determination of bacterial loads and survival assays, as well as examine the bacterial gene expression . Additionally, the host's immune response to the pathogen can be explored through this infection model.

摘要

动物感染模型在研究细菌致病机制、宿主与病原体相互作用以及评估药物和疫苗疗效方面发挥着重要作用。我们一直在利用急性肺炎模型来研究细菌在肺部的定植情况,并通过测定细菌载量和进行生存试验来评估对宿主的毒力,同时也检测细菌基因表达。此外,通过这个感染模型还可以探究宿主对病原体的免疫反应。
