Abstract
A case of regeneration of the major part of the distal phalanx of the first toe after traumatic avulsion in a 15-year-old boy is reported. It is concluded that, owing to the possibility of bony regeneration, it is advisable to be extremely reticent in removing soft tissue in cases of such lesions. Regeneration of the bone was demonstrated after 1 month.
