The blood supply of the ileum and possibilities to form enteroenteroanastomosis near by the blind gut were studied on 37 anatomical preparations and 39 patients. It was established that danger of incompetence of the anastomosis sutures in this field is not higher than that in ileotransversanastomosis, the immediate and long-term results in patients after resection of the small intestine with the enteroenteroanastomosis being much better than those in patients with the exclusion of the ileocecal part from the passage of the intestinal contents.
