Abstract
The authors describe the first case of neonatal hydropericardium involving a silicone central venous catheter which is known for its flexibility. Pericardial effusion was shown by echocardiography. The distal tip of the catheter was drawn back into the superior vena cava and the infant's condition improved quickly.
