The 9 papers collected in the book "Offenheit--Zeitlichkeit--Komplexität" (Campus, Frankfurt/M., New York 1984, 1987) are discussed in view of their possible contributions to a better understanding of the phenomena arising in complex biological, ecological, economical, and social systems which would be the basis also for solving the problems caused by the enlarging technologic-economical supersystems.
