Selective pituitary resistance to thyroid hormone is a rare cause of simultaneously elevated serum thyroxine and thyroid-stimulating hormone values. I have reported what I believe to be the first case of selective pituitary resistance to endogenous thyroid hormone suppression of TSH secretion after treatment of toxic multinodular goiter.
