[Effect of destruction of the lateral nucleus of the cerebral septum on the morphofunctional state of the reproductive system of male white rats].

The paper is concerned with the effect of stereotaxic destruction of the lateral nucleus of the septum (LNS) on the mass, structure and morphometric indices of the testes, seminal vesicles, epididymis, prostate and testosterone concentration in the blood plasma of albino rats. The animals were killed on the 7th day after operation. LNS destruction decreased the mass of seminal vesicles, the height of their epithelial cells and the level of testosterone in the blood plasma. Possible mechanisms of occurrence of changes in the reproductive system are discussed.
