In the clinical history of chronic open angle glaucoma one can distinguish four periods concerning the pathogenetic theories. These are: 1. the nervous and vascular theory, 2. the mechanical theory, 3. the mixed theory and 4. the biochemical, enzymatic and molecular theory, which in the future will become more and more important.
在慢性开角型青光眼的临床病史中，就发病机制理论而言，可以区分出四个阶段。它们分别是：1. 神经和血管理论；2. 机械理论；3. 混合理论；4. 生化、酶学和分子理论，而这一理论在未来将变得越来越重要。
