Social support is increasingly recognized to be important in care of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH), we firstly translate and validate the disease-targeted social support instrument in Chinese and to explore the correlation with WHOQOL-HIV.
We established content validity for HIV-related social support scale (HSSS) and administered the resultant questionnaire to 310 PLWH. Descriptive statistics were generated for each of the variables of general characteristics; student -test was used to compare the different groups.
The HSSS demonstrated a high level of internal consistency, both within each subscale and with the total score; all Cronbach's α values exceeded a priori threshold of ≥0.70. The HSSS cores were positively correlated with WHOQOL-HIV total scores (Pearson correlation: 0.39, < 0.001). We also found that higher educational level, personal income, CD4 cell count, and shorter duration of antiretroviral therapy are significantly associated with a higher level of social support ( < 0.05).
Social support may improve quality of life for PLWH, Chinese version of HIV-related social support scale can be used in future clinical practice.
社会支持在人类免疫缺陷病毒/获得性免疫综合征（HIV/AIDS）感染者（PLWH）的护理中日益被认为很重要，我们首先对针对该疾病的社会支持工具进行中文翻译和验证，并探讨其与世界卫生组织生活质量量表HIV版（WHOQOL-HIV）的相关性。
我们确立了HIV相关社会支持量表（HSSS）的内容效度，并将最终问卷发放给310名PLWH。对一般特征的每个变量进行描述性统计；采用t检验比较不同组。
HSSS在每个子量表内部以及总分方面均表现出较高的内部一致性；所有克朗巴哈α系数值均超过预先设定的≥0.70的阈值。HSSS得分与WHOQOL-HIV总分呈正相关（皮尔逊相关性：0.39，P<0.001）。我们还发现，较高的教育水平、个人收入、CD4细胞计数以及较短的抗逆转录病毒治疗持续时间与较高水平的社会支持显著相关（P<0.05）。
社会支持可能改善PLWH的生活质量，HIV相关社会支持量表中文版可用于未来的临床实践。
