In 30 diabetic patients blood glucose, HbA1 and glycosylated serum proteins were studied. They were examined at the beginning of the treatment and at 7-day intervals. On the 7th day considerable changes of blood glucose level were found without reliable changes of HbA1 and glycosylated serum protein level. On the 14th day a reliable decrease of the glycosylated serum proteins from 2.45 to 1.82 mumol/g protein was registered (p less than 0.01). After a 4 week treatment reliable changes of HbA1 level from 11.25 to 9.54% was found (p less than 0.01). Significant correlations between glucose and HbA1 values (r = 0.57) and between glucose and glycosylated proteins (r = 0.82) were established.
