An overview of the diagnostic imaging methods important to the accurate detection and characterization of calcaneal fractures is presented. Conventional radiography and tomography, as well as computed tomography with multiplanar reformation and three-dimensional image reconstruction, are discussed with reference to specific types of injuries.
