[Surgical treatment of avulsion fractures of the intercondylar eminence using ridged crossed trans-epiphyseal Kirschner wires].

Four patients with avulsion fractures of the intercondylar eminence were treated osteosynthetically by means of trans-epiphysial ridged crossed Kirschner wires at the emergency surgical clinic of the Solingen City Hospital in the period May 1984 to August 1985. In the case of two patients, who could be follow-up examinated, we found excellent results. The described procedure has proven to be technically simple and lends itself among other things to the secure feastening of flat, predominantly cartilaginous bearing fragments.
