Management of pregnancies complicated by fetal central nervous system abnormalities.

The management options available for fetuses with hydrocephalus are reviewed. These options include termination of pregnancy, judicious use of destructive procedures, early delivery by cesarean section and postnatal shunting, and placement of ventriculoamniotic shunts. The frequency of associated anomalies and the need for further clinical trials are stressed.
