Tremor may be defined as a rhythmic oscillation of a body part. In several neurologic disorders tremor appears as one of the symptoms, and may also be the main semeiological feature. No single structure involvement can be proven to be associated with tremor: it may be observed, in fact, in central as well as in peripheral diseases and in genetic or acquired disorders. The most useful semeiological classification divides the tremors in resting, postural and kinetic tremor, but only a complete anamnestic, clinical and electrophysiological evaluation permits to define the tremor and to achieve the correct diagnosis of a disease in which the symptom tremor is present.
